Our 2015 Potomac Flower Show and Design Competition is now a wrap! From every possible angle, this show was the best ever! We are so thankful that you joined us for this special occasion. We look forward to this event every year, and are delighted to know that you do too!
This year's turnout was blew us away our biggest show yet. A full house, an overwhelming abundance of flowers, and a lively atmosphere were the winning combination for a perfect day. It was great seeing so many familiar faces, as well as making new friends. Thanks to the talented Potomac Jazz Project for providing us with their superb musical talent, and Milloff's Catering for the wonderful food and sweet treats.
Our vendors' exhibits captivated us all this year, the booths overflowing with displays of beautiful flowers and the newest in supply products. We are so grateful to our vendor friends for traveling from all over the world specifically for this event, to share their amazing products and knowledge.
The annual Design Competition is always a special highlight of our show. In keeping with this year's theme, fifteen local designers c reated a "cascading bouquet fit for a princess". Each design was unique and stunning. A six person panel of judges carefully chose the winners. The First Place Prize was awarded to Anahit Hakobyan of Viva La Flora. The Second Place Winner was Karyn Kallmyer of Kallmyer's Designs. And, the Third Place Prize went to Deb Melissa Huston of Studio H. Finally, you voted and chose our People's Choice Winner: Megan Norgan of Petal's Edge. Congratulations to all of our winners!
It was an honor to have John Hosek with us to deliver his exciting presentation, "Bouquets and More". His remarkable knowledge and fresh ideas were truly inspiring and will motivate us for a long time. There was a bouquet for every bride, and great tips on how to put them together. We are so thrilled to carry on our tradition of educating and training the floral community.
